Onegai My Melody (Japanese: おねがい♪ マイメロディ) is a Japanese anime franchise, followed up by the novel Onegai♪My Melody High School~, featuring the popular Sanrio characters My Melody and Kuromi.

On their adventures, they are accompanied by friends such as Uta Yumeno (an ancillary character introduced in the original anime), Kirara Hoshizuki (the main protagonist of Onegai♪My Melody Kirara★), Prince Sorara, Flat-kun and Piano.

Much merchandise related to the franchise have been released such as the video game and electronic notebook software My Melody Angel Book: Denshi Techou & Enjoy Game as well as the video game Onegai My Melody: Yume no Kuni no Daibouken.

Plot

In the series, Kuromi stole a magical artefact known as the Melody Key and aims to use it to gather 100 Black Notes and resurrect a dark energy. In many episodes, Kuromi attempts to cause trouble but My Melody and friends save the day.

My Melody can use a special tool known as the Melody Takt to cast magic. In Onegai♪My Melody Kirara★ she uses the Star Pendants with Kirara, often transforming Kirara or another character.

Sub-series

The Onegai My Melody series received a short known as Onegai My Melody: Yū & Ai which was shown before the Jewelpet movie Jewelpet the Movie: Sweets Dance Princess.
