The PlayStation Portable (Japanese: プレイステーション・ポータブル), also abbreviated as the PSP is a portable video game console by Sony. In Japan it was released on December 12, 2004, while overseas it was released the following year.

There are four later redesigns of the PlayStation Portable as well; the PSP-2000 (PSP Slim in PAL regions), PSP-3000 (PSP Slim & Lite/PSP Brite in PAL regions), and PSP Go (N1000) (even lighter and smaller than the PSP-3000).
