Flint the Time Detective (Japanese: 時空探偵ゲンシクン, Jikuu Tantei Genshi-kun), meaning Space-Time Detective Genshi-kun, is a 1998-1999 Japanese animation series, featuring a prehistoric boy named Flint Hammerhead.[1]

In Japan, Sanrio helped produce it, making it another 1990s character universe.

Time-Shifters

The Time-Shifters are known as Space-Time Monsters in Japan, or Jikuumon. Before the Dark Lord came, they helped the Old Timer run the Land of Time.

The Cardians

The Cardians are a group of Time-Shifters themed on traditional playing cards and modeled on the The Three Musketeers and J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai.

They can merge together to become monsters, including:

The Great Four

Time-Shifters created by the Dark Lord from flowers.

Plot

Flint was revived by the Time Police Detectives and later discovered by Dr. Bernard Goodman and his niece, nephew during an archaeological dig at school. Flint's father Rocky Hammerhead was also going to be transformed, but the transformation was not complete and he turned into a powerful granite axe.

During the 25th Century, Flint and Rocky Hammerhead confront Petra Fina; who is responsible for their fossilisation, and attempting to destroy the Land of Time.
