Wish Me Mell is a Sanrio character introduced in 2010 based on a white rabbit girl. She was designed with 15-20 year old women in mind, according to press release from the Official Japanese Sanrio website. [1]
Wish Me Mell appeared/appears in Sanrio Puroland, for example in the "Mell no Yume ni Mukatte Ganbaru Nikki" performance. She has her own "Mell channel" on the Sanrio Puroland website, and a special Sanrio Puroland limited edition "Mell Mell Doll" was released.[2][3]
Introduction
When Wish Me Mell was released, her main character design was not originally not shown. The aforementioned press release page from Janaury 25th 2011 states that she could previously not come out of her house, but thanks to encouragement she was able to come out at barely 10 o'clock. The website "Racked" drew comparison to this with "hikikomori" social phobia.[4]
Biography
Wish Me Mell came from France and lives in an egg shaped house in Merci Hills. Her birthday is September 20th. She is timid. She has an owner with a gentle heart who she is obedient to.[5]
