Kisekae Plate No. 066: Hello Kitty (Variation 1)

The New Nintendo 3DS Cover Plates (Japanese: きせかえプレート, Dress-Up Plates) are a series of removable face plates designed for the back of the New Nintendo 3DS (opposite side to the screens).

The idea of removable cover plates was a feature Nintendo specifically promoted for this version of the Nintendo 3DS.[1] However, similar plates (including for other versions of the Nintendo 3DS) may exist as third-party products.

The cover plates are attached and removed from the New Nintendo 3DS using a size #0 cross-head (+) screwdriver. A screwdriver is not sold with the plates, but for convenience the screws loosen enough so the plate can detach from the console, but the screws do not completely detach from the plate itself.[2]
