New Nintendo 3DS Cover Plate
The New Nintendo 3DS Cover Plates (Japanese: きせかえプレート, Dress-Up Plates) are a series of removable face plates designed for the front plate of the New Nintendo 3DS; a feature specifically designed for this version of the Nintendo 3DS.[1] Similar plates for the back plate (rather than the front plate) on a New Nintendo 3DS XL also exist; known as New Nintendo 3DS XL Cover Plates, and there may exist similar third-party products.
The cover plates are attached and removed from the New Nintendo 3DS using a size #0 cross-head (+) screwdriver. A screwdriver is not sold with the plates, but for convenience the screws loosen but for convenience of the user of the New Nintendo 3DS do not completely detach from the plate.[2]
