A Sega Pico

The Sega Pico is a 1993-1995 released video game console produced by Sega, aimed at young children between the ages of 3 and 7. It uses special cartridges known as StoryWare, with multiple 'pages' similar to a book. It has a touch pen and 'clamshell' like design.

The hardware is based on that of the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis.

Most Sanrio Sega Pico games were released exclusively to Japan. An exception is Hello Kitty no Tanoshii Butoukai, released as Hello Kitty no Castelo in Brazil.

The Sega Pico was succeeded by another young children's console known as the Advanced Pico Beena, however the Advanced Pico Beena was exclusively released in Japan.

Mascots

The sample art

A black and white penguin appears in crayon and pencil art for Sega Pico games, in which it looks from the ice at night towards a green hill in which there is a huge (possibly fallen) yellow star. On that hill is also a path to a red apple tree.

It possibly is only a minor mascot, but has appeared in game manuals including the manuals of games featuring Sanrio characters.
