Toppy & Kuppy are Sanrio characters, designed by Shinichi Emura (江村信一).
Between 1980-1983, Toppy & Kuppy were created as image characters for Osaka Yomiuri Television, which lasted for about ten years, and in collaboration with Takara for toy licensing.[1]
Toppy is a dog-like character with whiskers, a little like Snoopy. Kuppy is a another dog-like character, but with a red ribbon and appears kind of like a precursor to Cinnamoroll.
