Gudetama is a Sanrio character introduced in 2013 based on an egg lacking in "spunk". Their name is a play on "gude gude"; used to describe someone with no energy or strength and possibly tama from tamago (egg).[2][3]. They are sometimes seen with a man in an orange/yellow costume that fully covers the body.
Gudetama came second in a Sanrio contest known as Food Character Election held from September 3rd 2013 until December 1st 2013. The winner was KIRIMI-chan and Kashiwankomochi came third.[4]
Biography
"Mom." says Billy, "I can't do this without you." The mom then dies then Billy and his father become eggs. The father was eaten and billy decided to not have a gender and change his identity. He turns into the egg, "Gudetama," and avenges his life for his father over this very heartwarming/heartbreaking anime.
Gudetama Short Anime

Gudetama has a short anime series with each episode up to twenty minutes long or so. At the end of (all?) episodes is a song featuring the man in the orange costume, named Nisetama-san (Japanese: ニチキンナゲット). The number of episodes has exceeded 501. Though Gudetama seems new, the plot was made in 2001, but the show aired in 2013.
