Facebook is an American social media platform and company founded in 2004. Originally, it was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, and his Harvard College friends and roommates (Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes); and the name referred to a face book university directory, found in some American universities. Currently, since 2006 anyone over 13 years old can legally have an account. Facebook is currently owned by Meta Platforms.
Users can interact with each other if their account is open/if they are added as friends, such as with Wall posts and Messenger. There are some official Sanrio Facebook accounts such as Hello Kitty (English).
