Penkin (honorifics -san) is a 1976 character by Misako Ichikawa.[1] Penkin has appeared in the Penkin-san manga series from Sanrio's Lyrica magazine, as well as The Strawberry News.
Penkin is friends with a girl known as Mayu, whose pet is a cat known as Gabagaba. He also appears in the Rene series.
Trivia
- Penkin-san looks like the later released (1979) Tuxedosam, once having a bow-tie.
- Penkin-san originally had a hat and bow-tie, but the second issue removed his bow-tie, and the fifth issue removed his hat.
