Sanrio Wiki has moved from ShoutWiki. Account creation is closed to prevent spam on a company typically seen in the West for its children's media. If you want an account here (or to activate your old ShoutWiki account here) it is suggested (though you have free will) get your parent/guardian's permission to use the Internet, and contact EvieMelody (X, formally Twitter) re: account creation or article requests.

Note: Sanrio Wiki is not official and is not run by Sanrio Co., Ltd. or related parties. This wiki uses some low resolution content (images, short sound clips) to describe articles, under fair use (for the purpose of illustrating and describing an article only). All rights are reserved by Sanrio and related parties.

Sometimes this wiki may be a little slow, other times it is faster. This is likely server related. On such days, you may want to stockpile edits offline for later.

Policy
These Are Sanrio Secrets book.png This page explains one or more Sanrio Wiki policies, guidelines and/or projects.

Banned users are users (either usernames or IP addresses/a range of IP addresses) on Sanrio Wiki who are restricted from editing by an admin, bureaucrat, or are partially banned due to abuse, such as malicious bots that post spam or attempt to compromise the user. A ban can either be full (sitewide), or partial (specific pages or pages under namespaces may be allowed).

Details

Additionally, a staff member can specify whether to block "editing", "account creation", "sending email", "editing their own talk page". The duration of a ban can be specified by the staff as any specific duration or indefinite (if indefinite the ban is effectively permanent unless the staff member manually removes the ban).

The staff member can specify a pre-set reason for banning. Common reasons (shared by other MediaWiki projects) include:

  • Inserting false information
  • Removing content from pages
  • Spamming links to external sites
  • Inserting nonsense/gibberish into pages
  • Intimidating behavior/harassment
  • Abusing multiple accounts
  • Unacceptable username

If a banned user is visible on a group list, "(blocked)" may be seen on the list. Furthermore, a user's block settings (if applicable, including duration and reason for their block) may be displayed through Special:Contributions, even if the user browsing is not a staff member.

Some banned users are not visible due to unacceptable (e.g. offensive) usernames. In this case, a suppressor user has the ability to hide a user from users in other user groups, or see a user marked as hidden by them.

Policy

If a user is banned, they are usually restricted from the site under the criteria of the ban. They can otherwise request to be unbanned within their rights with a valid reason if an admin is contacted outside of the wiki, if the admin permits it (but such requests should be polite and civil, and harassment won't be tolerated). In this case the ban might be revoked or still kept (with reason) based on the situation and the consensus of the admins.
