Super Mario Maker x Sanrio
The Wii U version of the Nintendo platform course creator video game Super Mario Maker featured a promotion for Hello Kitty and My Melody from May 26, 2016 in one of the downloadable "Event Courses", called "Hello Kitty & My Melody" (Japanese: サンリオキャラクターズ（ハローキティ・マイメロディ, Sanrio Characters (Hello Kitty・ My Melody)).
The Event Courses are special levels themed around different topics. In the Hello Kitty & My Melody Event Course, the player could complete either of one or two routes to unlock either a Kitty or Melody Mystery Mushroom costume (a special item that lets Mario transform into the character; in this case Hello Kitty or My Melody).
