Tinychum is a Sanrio universe, introduced in 1984. It is based on a group of differently coloured teddy bears all wearing ribbons.
Tinychum also refers to the main character, who is a big fan of Hello Kitty and imitates her by wearing a ribbon. His father decided to live in Hello Kitty's house while working in New York. The birthday of all the Tinychums is on October 27th (Scorpio).
The Tinychums were a strategy during the Kitty Boom to make Hello Kitty more popular; these teddy bears were known as "Hello Kitty's friends".
