Hoshi no Ugoku Oto (Sounds of the Moving Stars) is a science fiction universe by Hisashi Sakaguchi, also consisting of a number of related stories. It is not a franchise owned by Sanrio, however it was first serialised in March 1979 of Sanrio's Lyrica magazine (No. 29) as Hoshi no Ugoku Oto; before the related stories were released in multiple serialisations; including Bessatsu Kisoutengai (別冊奇想天外), Manga Kisoutengai (マンガ奇想天外), Ryuu (リュウ) and Popcorn (ポップコーン).[1]

The name of this work may be a reference to the expression musica universalis (universal music).

Hoshi no Ugoku Oto (星の動く音) (March 1979, Lyrica No. 29)

This story is based on Earth and the fictional tropical planet of Noval. Gil's father was an astronaut and architect who worked at Noval but was originally born on Earth. He passed away during an accident at Noval. As part of his will, he wants to be buried on his home planet of Earth. Therefore, in his honour Gil and his nameless mother set out to Earth as astronauts to meet his wishes.
